Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, frequently receiving huge earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really proceeding.
