Zohran Mamdani Pledges a 'Fresh Chapter' for NYC in Inaugural Address
On his inauguration day in office, Zohran Mamdani pledged to “transform” America's largest city, ushering in “a different age” and an ambitious start to his term.
A Groundbreaking Figure
The young democratic socialist, who was a relatively obscure state assemblyman, now stands as the city's first Muslim mayor. He additionally marked a milestone by being the first to be sworn in using the Islamic holy text.
